  • What experience and qualifications do you have?
I bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to helping women build resilience, confidence, and self-love. I am a certified coach and mediator, with over a decade of experience at Stanford University. I have taught classes on communication, accountability, emotional intelligence, stress reduction, growth mindset, and leadership development, further enriching my understanding of the tools needed for personal growth and empowerment. I practice DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and am a trauma and PTSD survivor. My personal journey and ongoing practice have given me invaluable insights and empathy, which I use to help others navigate their own paths. My training includes methodologies that focus on mindset, confidence building, and relationship development. My coaching style blends practical strategies, emotional insight, and personal connection. I share my experiences and actively engage with my clients, providing mentorship, understanding, and validation as we work through exercises and practices together. I am dedicated to walking alongside each client, ensuring they feel supported and empowered to move forward on their journey.
  • What happens during an individual session?
Individual sessions will typically last one hour, sometimes 90 minutes. During your session, I’ll ask you questions to promote insight about your goals, interests, and what’s on your mind. We’ll dig deep; your experience is too important to sidestep. When we discover pieces of you that need to be explored, we’ll do it together. I’ll share similar experiences, what I’ve learned and what I’ve done specifically to boost my sense of self worth. We’ll identify tools and practices that can help you feel more positively about yourself, then build a plan to start building habits and practice. I’ll likely invite you to write things down, try out tools, and practice.
  • How is your approach different from traditional therapy, standard life coaching, or anything else that's out there?
I offer a unique blend of practical strategies and emotional insight. While therapy often focuses on past experiences to understand and heal, my approach incorporates addressing past hurts, processing emotions, and identifying narratives that may compromise your sense of self-worth and self-love. I share my personal experiences, providing mentorship, understanding, and validation as I guide you through the journey. I work alongside you, engaging in the exercises and practices myself, creating an authentic and supportive environment that empowers you to move forward and create lasting, positive change in your life.
  • Do you address mental health issues in your coaching?
While our coaching programs focus on personal growth and skill-building, they are not intended to replace therapy or medical treatment. If you’re dealing with significant mental health concerns, we encourage you to seek guidance from a licensed therapist or counselor. Our services complement these services by providing practical tools and support to help you move forward with confidence and resilience.
  • What are the expectations?
To get the most out of your experience, I ask that you: Be accountable: Take responsibility for your growth and the effort you put into the process. Do the work: Commit to the exercises, practices, and strategies we discuss. Communicate: Keep an open line of communication with me about your progress, challenges, and needs. Advocate for yourself: Prioritize your well-being and speak up for what you need to support your growth. Be vulnerable: Embrace honesty and openness, even when it feels challenging, to foster real change. Be respectful: Treat yourself and our relationship with respect, creating an environment where we can both thrive. These expectations help create a supportive and effective relationship, empowering you to move forward with confidence.
  • Do I need to sign an agreement?
No, you do not need to sign an agreement to work with me. While I prioritize clarity and open communication in all my relationships, I believe that mutual trust and respect are the foundation of our work together. If we decide to collaborate, I’ll ensure that all expectations and boundaries are clear, making sure you feel comfortable and confident as we move forward.
  • Will you share my information with anyone?
Absolutely not. All sessions and events at Into the Woods will be kept confidential, allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings privately. Your story is yours to tell. Please keep that same confidentiality in mind when sharing your experience at our events. We encourage you to share your thoughts and feelings, yet not that of others.
  • Where are you located? Is there parking?
We are located in north Franklin on 7 acres of private woods. For individual sessions, there is a dedicated, private spot just for you. When we hold larger events, we will coordinate parking and complimentary shuttle service as needed.
  • Do I need to bring anything?
A pen you like to write with and a notebook or journal are essential. We are all accountable for our stories, which means writing down what we learn and planning how we’ll use it.
  • What if I can't make it to my session or one of the events?
Should you be unable to make it to an appointment, you can cancel or reschedule online through your appointment reminder, by emailing hilary@intothewoodswithus.com or by calling/texting me up to 24 hours before your scheduled visit. Cancellation and/or rescheduling within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment is non-refundable.
  • Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. My services are offered on a private-pay basis, allowing for a more personalized and flexible approach to your growth journey. This ensures that our focus remains on your individual needs without restrictions that insurance might impose.
  • How old do I need to be to come onsite?
You must be 18 or older to visit Into the Woods. This ensures that we’re able to provide resources and guidance tailored specifically to adult women on their self-love journey.
  • What is the difference between the coaching programs?
The Owning My Story Coaching Program is all about equipping you with practical, clear strategies to better understand and navigate your inner world. It’s designed to help you recognize the triggers that set off certain reactions, identify the thought patterns that influence them, and take action in a way that leads to lasting change. This program is focused on giving you the tools to step out of old cycles and embrace a mindset that supports your growth and well-being. The I Am Radiant Coaching Program is all about breaking down the barriers that hold you back from fully embracing who you are. It’s designed to help you work through fear and hesitation—those quiet voices and patterns that have built up over time. Through small, consistent actions, grounding techniques to manage stress, and practical tools, you’ll learn to step into your confidence and trust yourself more deeply, day by day. The Purposeful Partnership Coaching Program is centered on fostering true partnership. It’s about helping you lean into your natural strengths as a woman, recognizing your value as an equally important partner in your relationship. This program encourages you to stop expecting your partner to think and act like you, and instead, invites you to embrace vulnerability, break free from self-limiting thoughts, and create a space where both partners can grow and thrive together.
